Why Astronomy for Equity?

Astronomy:

  • Is universal, a part of every culture throughout time
  • Touches on all areas of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
  • Is accessible, using the natural laboratory overhead anywhere in the world
  • Fascinates everyone
  • Has enthusiastic, eager volunteers sharing their passion in every country and community

We need to move on from Think Globally, Act Locally.
In our interconnected world we can now Think Locally, Act Globally.
Take good ideas from anywhere, apply them locally.
Then engage the worldwide community for support, and to support others.
What better field for this than one without limits, astronomy?
